As you can see, I have a little problem with adding one of Howard's favorite photos to the blog heading. Amy and I have a plan to fix that (and I will learn something new) tomorrow when we coordinate NYC and Pacific time to work. Then hopefully both photo and text will stand separately.
Anna accompanied me today and she was most helpful. Joe brought me home and we had a chance to look at a replacement car for the Hartford Insurance Co will soon stop providing the rental car. What's not to like, it is a well-cared for low mileage Buick? Belongs to the mother of good friends.
Michael and I stopped by the hospital at about 10:00 P.M. on Wednesday night on our way back from Michael's meeting in Astoria. We met John, the night nurse who apparently has been there for 3 of Dad's nights. Very nice guy.
ReplyDeleteHe said that earlier today he was asking questions and got several answers he could understand: "Dad is/was (?) a farmer. He has both sons and daughters. And the sons played sports." Not bad for someone who can't remember that he is "Howard", not "James"!
He also mentioned that the foot surgery tentatively scheduled (again, he's 'on the list') for tomorrow may move up a bit because he is already intubated (to aid his breathing) and they would have to do that for the surgery anyway!
He was sleeping very quietly and peacefully when we were there. No flailing about with that cast. Nice to see him so relaxed.
